Restorations - BMW 2000CS
BMW 2000CS
It is well known that BMW was in a bad financial situation during the 1950s and needed a major turnaround, which they started in the early 1960s. It was the 2000CS model (along with the 2000C model) that brought the desired turnouround which directing BMW towards the top where it was before World War II. To be fair, the C and CS models weren’t widely accepted models at the time, but they were step in the right direction towards some models (E9 coupes for example) that were better accepted. The C and CS were the first BMWs to use a 2.0-liter version of the four-cylinder M10 engine from the "Neue Klasse" series of cars (the so-called car class from 1962 onwards ...).
The BMW 2000CS was certainly one of the most demanding restorations we have had lately and it lasted about 8 months. It was not easy, but we managed to pull it off ๐
We put toghether "start-to-finish" gallery for you to get impression of just how demandig this restoration was, but to be honest, pictures don't do it justice. And it still just a smaller fraction of pictures that we have from this restoration. Still, the end result is great and the car really has that 1960s feeling.
A model we restored is from 1966 ๐
